How to fix the water leakage of the toilet water tank?
Release time:2019-12-27 Hits: 【Print】
Step 1. Make sure the closed water valve of the toilet is in the closed position.
Step 2. After the ball valve plunger is removed, one or two gaskets (or O-rings) can be seen. If any of these parts fail, the water will flow out continuously over the valve plunger, and the water tank of the toilet will keep running water. Therefore, check all gaskets, and replace them immediately if they are damaged.
Step 3. If the ball valve is sealed, replace it completely. Turn off the water source of the toilet at the closed water valve, and then empty the water in the water tank. Unscrew the floating arm from the old ball valve, and then remove the water injection pipe from the overflow pipe.
Step 4. Look for the coupling nut or sliding nut under the water tank, from which the water inlet pipe enters the bottom of the water tank. Loosen the coupling nut, remove the water inlet pipe, and then under the water tank, clamp the lock nut or locknut with a spanner wrench. They clamp the base of the ball valve with another wrench in the water tank above the sliding nut.
Step 5. Screw off the locknut under the water tank and remove the ball valve. If the nut is too tight, loosen it with penetrating lubricant.
Step 6 take out the old device in the water tank, remove and keep the gasket at all connections inside and outside the water tank. New valve parts may have new gaskets, but the old parts should be kept until the new device is installed to avoid damage during the installation of the new parts.
Step 7. Insert the new ball float valve into the water tank hole. After the gasket in the water tank is installed, tighten the locknut outside the water tank to make the gasket inside tightly press on the water tank hole to play the role of sealing, but do not over tighten.
Step 8. Replace the coupling nut and water inlet pipe, reinstall the floating arm, and then insert the water injection pipe into the overflow pipe.
Step 9. Let the water flow out again on the closed water valve of the toilet and check whether there is water seepage in each part. Of course, check whether the floating ball scrapes the back wall of the water tank. If there are these phenomena, it can be adjusted properly.
